Default Price of Charcoal

Hi there,
Since the holiday event, the price of charcoal has been between 200 and 230 gold each. Generally it is 160 to 190. I am just curious if anyone has any thoughts on why the price is now consistently higher? It seems mainly used for Deldrimor Steel ingots. I wonder if people are buying more armor (that requires D. Steel) and that is driving the price up. I realise it is speculation, but just wondering?

Clearly because everyone bought their Gdubz friends a lump of charcoal for Christmas.

and i wonder how many "smart" people are buying Charcoal at the rare mat trader instead of hopping to Ascalon for the snowman quest.

It's probably this. yes. Have heard at least a dozen people in LA complaining the quest wont update after buying their coal over this event. Happens eeeevery year. Good times.

Last Wintersday price of charcoal also increased and there were no new crafters then. It's a known fact masses were trying to buy them for the quest but strangely they don't sell them back when they don't work. If they did the price would be back to its old level.

Its a combination of these two things. I wouldn't be surprised if Dust, granite, and Monsterous Eyes had a smaller but yet still existent raise throughout wintersday.
